The past two eighth grade volleyball matches have seen the C squad winning and the A and B squads losing.
In Roland Sept. 22 against Roland-Story game scores were 9-21, 12-21, 2-10 for the A squad; 3-21, 9-21, 6-15 for the B squad; and 21-12, 21-9, 5-5 for the C squad.
Four Rams served at 100 percent – Brooke Diekmann at 16 of 16 with three aces, Emma McColley at 14 of 14 with three aces, and Julie Follett and Annie Twillie both at two of two. Paige Egeland served at eight of nine for 89 percent and five aces, and Brianna osterson served at seven of eight for 88 percent with five aces.
The team served at 74 of 88 for 84 percent and 21 aces. Coach Teresa Green said it was one of the team’s best nights serving. “Our team worked hard to hustle on the court and keep the ball in play,” Green said.
The A squad is 2-12 in games and 1-4 in matches. The B squad is 4-10 in games and 1-4 in matches, and the C squad is 10-3-1 in games and 4-1 in matches, as of Sept. 22.
The team hosted Panorama Sept. 20 and picked up a win for the C squad but losses for the A and B squads.
Game scores were 11-21, 12-21 for the A squad; 8-21, 8-21 for the B squad; and 21-19, 21-15 for the C squad.
Top servers were Brooke Diekmann, who served 21 for 21 with 12 aces; Emma McColley, who served at six of seven for 86 percent with two aces; Eliza Carlson, who served at three of four for 75 percent with two aces; and Brianna Osterson, who served at five of seven for 71 percent and two aces. As a team the girls were 69 percent at 57 of 83.
